.expub, a Creative Europe initiative (2023–2025), explores how new operational models allow artistic, scientific, and independent publishers to experiment with new combinations of publishing format and technology. Expanded publishing is a publishing practice that is more inclusive than traditional publishing: it enables broader means of expression, includes more inter-format connections, involves readership and peers, open-sources the underlying technology for better access, integrates the metadata of a publication, and experiments with non-publishable art and scientific formats. The consortium’s final publication is .expub | Exploring Expanded Publishing (Institute of Network Cultures, 2025), edited by Tommaso Campagna, Marta Ceccarelli, and Carolina Valente Pinto.
